The Central Klamath County Community Action Team (CKCCAT, aka CCAT) is a volunteer organization that serves the communities of Chiloquin, Modoc Point and Fort Klamath, and the rural areas of central Klamath County. The CCAT is an acknowledged Citizen Advisory Committee for land use issues and, as such, gives central county residents the opportunity to have a voice in local land use issues. It provides a public forum for discussion and development of advice to the Klamath County Planning Commission on issues that affect the central county area.
The CCAT holds monthly meetings in March, April, May and June, and again in September, October and November. The meetings are on the first Thursday of the month at 6:30 PM in the Chiloquin Community Center. All interested area residents are welcome and encouraged to attend. There are no regular meetings in the months of July, August, December, January and February, although special meetings can be called as circumstances warrant. Meetings begin at 6:30 PM, in the Chiloquin Community Center.
The CCAT also provides a forum for discussion of other issues of interest or concern to local citizens. Please contact the Chair, Faith Wilkins, at 783-2722 if you would like to have a topic placed on the agenda, or if you need further information. Check this webpage for meeting notices, newsletters and bulletins
The next CCAT meeting will at 6:30 PM on Thursday, May 7th, at the Chiloquin Community Center.
Chiloquin Community CenterThe CCAT has been operating since 1994 when it was created by a provision in the Farm Bill to assist timber-impacted communities (of which Chiloquin was one) in transitioning to diversified economies. Initial support and coordination were provided by the United States Forest Service and funding was made available through the State Community Economic Revitalization Team (SCERT). Both of these sources of help have been withdrawn or have expired. However, the CCAT has continued as an independent community group under the sponsorship of Chiloquin Visions in Progress, our local community-benefit 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
The Chair of CCAT is Faith Wilkins (783-2722), and the Vice-Chair is Jim Rickman (783-3798).
